Vygotsky's comments on instruction will be of interest and use to educators. States a personal, tentative theory of instruction as follows: "The only good kind of instruction is that which marches ahead of development and leads it: it must be aimed not so much at the ripe as at the ripening function" Considers the study of grammar to be of paramount importance for the mental development of the child. It forces the child to become aware of grammatical concepts and to get them under conscious control. Vygotsky also discusses interorganization of speech in relation to egocentric speech. | |
